PDF & Files
Understand a file before you change it: PDFs that will not print or print the wrong size, files that are too large or in the wrong format, and photos or videos that will not open on another device.
- A PDF won't print, or prints the wrong sizeThe printer ignores your PDF, prints it tiny or cropped, or produces garbled pages — while other documents may print fine. Adobe's own troubleshooting starts with the printer, then works through the reader's print options.
- A file is too large to send, or the format isn't acceptedA website, form or email refuses your file because of its size or its format. Before changing anything, check the two facts that matter: how big the file actually is, and what format it really is.
- A photo or video won't open or play on another deviceA photo or video that works on your phone refuses to open on a computer, TV or another phone. The usual reason is its format — the container named by its extension, and the codec packed inside it — and understanding that difference tells you whether a conversion will help.
